Creating Local Citations to Improve Local SEO Results.

I often get asked questions on how a local business can get their name out on the internet. This is a good question and I will be answering that very question in this blog post.

One of the best ways, in my opinion, to get your business noticed very quickly is to use business citations. This is a great way for customers to find you when they search for business citation sites. A few just to name are Yelp, Manta, Merchant Circle, and Hot Frog.

All of them are easy to get listings on and you will just need to enter your basic business information to get started. I’ve seen clients get calls almost immediately just by adding their business to local citation sites. Ken from the Chicago SEO Scholar states “citations are critical for improving Google My Business rankings” so if you are not in the three-pack then try creating citations for your business.

How to Create Citations

So there are basically two ways to create a local listing. You can either do them manually or have a company like Bright Local or Yext create them for you. Bright Local and Yext cost around $3 for each citation they create, so a good campaign will cost you about $200 to get a good amount of listings.
